Top Holiday Weight Loss Mistakes

If you wish to drop weight during the holidays you're going to have to be more mindful than ever to stay clear of the huge mistakes of dieting. You have to strike a balance between enjoying your weight, being healthy, and still enjoying yourself. Here are a few of the leading errors I see holiday dieters making.

Top Holiday Weight Loss Mistakes from

1. They go on a crash diet.

When you begin a diet you can not go all in to fast. If you're used to eating whatever you want and then suddenly restrict yourself to 1,200 calories a day you're going to feel terrible. Ease yourself into it. Focus on making better options and eating smaller sized portions. Individuals who go on crash diet plans are more likely to fail and usually wind up gaining back more weight than they originally lost, which is extremely unhealthy. On top of that it simply feels bad, don't do it!

2. Limiting yourself too much throughout the holidays.

You're going to be surrounded by deviled eggs, pumpkin pies, stuffing, and tons of other tasty foods. It's going to be tempting. You understand what you should do? GO FOR IT! However do it in small amounts.

Delight in those tasty snacks but do not overdo it. Pick one dessert instead of attempting them all, or attempt them all however get smaller sized sections. Divide a piece of pie with someone so you can also take pleasure in some fudge. It's okay to indulge as long as you don't overindulge.

Staying clear of the foods you like is going to make you enjoy the holidays less. It's likewise going to enhance the opportunities of you giving up on your weight-loss completely.

3. Concentrating just on diet.

Diet plan isn't everything in weight management. Exercise is essential too. Not only does it keep your body healthy but it makes your metabolic rate more powerful. It'll also burn off those additional calories you take in from included tasty treats.

Take at least 30 minutes each day to get some exercise in. Blast your preferred music and dance along, go up and down the stairs, or toss on your favorite workout video from Brilliant Fitness. It's worth it.

4. Quiting for the holidays.

So many people just get so wrapped up in the holidays that they'll ignore their weight management plans and goals. "The holidays just come once a year" they'll say. Remember "The Holidays" cover a time period of 2-3 months. That's a long time to forget your weight management goals! Alternativly, if you were to state "Christmas only comes once a year" and consume all you desire on Christmas that wouldn't ruin the effort you put in the prior 9 months. It would also give you more to look forward to for the specific holiday!  Point is, don't binge for 2 months straight because it might undo 6 months of previous effort! Facts are facts: it's much easier to gain weight than it is to lose it.

In conclusion, don't let the holidays sabotage your weight management goals. You still can enjoy yourself & the holidays as long as you keep your weight management goals in sight and keep everything else in moderation. Now enjoy that egg nog!
