Low Calorie Winter Sangria Recipe

Mmm, who doesn’t love a good sangria? I know most people see sangria as a summer drink but did you know that National Sangria Day is on December 20th?

The great thing about sangria is that you can make a few small changes and get a unique flavor that’s still awesome. For example, try this yummy and low calorie winter sangria.



1 cup dried figs

1 sliced gala apple

1 sliced pear

1 cup cherries

6-8 sliced clementine or 2-3 oranges (leave the peel on)

1 cup brandy

½ cup triple sec

1 bottle of your favorite merlot



1. Add all of the fruit to a nice big pitcher with a lid.

2. Slowly pour in the brandy and triple sec. Mix well.

3. Add the wine.

4. Leave to chill for at least 4 hours but not more than 24 hours. The longer you let it chill the more fruity flavors it’ll soak up but any more than 24 hours will leave it tasting bitter.

5. Serve with ice.
