Healthy Low Calorie Hummus Recipe
Low Calorie Hummus
You can’t have a great veggie plate without dip! I love ranch dip, spinach dip, and all of those great creamy dips but hummus also goes great with pretty much any vegetable. It’s also very healthy and you can cut out some calories along the way making it the perfect low calorie dip.
We cut out calories by using lower calorie yogurt and using less olive oil. It’s still creamy and delicious but will keep you on track to losing some pounds.
1 can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
2 cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon tahini (It’s like peanut butter made with sesame seeds. Most grocery stores carry it.)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon fat free yogurt, plain
¼ tsp ground red pepper
¼ tsp salt
1. Toss all of the ingredients in the food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
4. Leftovers can be covered and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
