Low Calorie Peppermint Fudge Recipe

Low Calorie Peppermint Fudge Recipe

Fudge is one of those things it’s just hard to say no to during the holiday season. It can be really tough! The thing is, there is no way to make fudge without it being loaded with sugar, it’s just how fudge works.

I’ve found two things that really help when it comes to fudge. Pull out some of the calories by using reduced fat ingredients and add peppermint. The peppermint adds awesome flavor, makes it feel more “Christmas-y” and also makes it easier to portion. The mint flavor curbs your appetite so you can feel more satisfied after a small square or two.

Try this recipe and indulge a little without packing on the calories.

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks (chips are good too)

2/3 cup low-fat condensed milk – sweetened (this is different from evaporated milk)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

¼ teaspoon sea salt

Instructions:

1. Get a medium saucepan and add the chocolate and milk. Heat on medium-low until the chocolate is melted and everything is combined well.

2. Add the vanilla, peppermint, and sea salt.

3. Mix well.

4. Pour into an ungreased 8x8 pan.

5. Chill in the fridge for three hours or until firm.

6. Cut and serve.
